Steve Lawson welcome to the dark-side - Calamateur has often written about doubt, questioning, and dark stuff with an ultimately hopeful twist, but this is his deepest exploration of that side of his musical personae... Excellent.

Eon Hetherton Andrew from Calamateur describes his own music as, "pretty, well-polished and acoustic, sometimes angry & electronic". This album mostly falls into the latter category with a beautiful duet featuring Jo Mango and a hushed Sparklehorse cover being among the exceptions.
Dark and brooding while still managing to be uplifting, this album feels like an alternative Twin Peaks soundtrack to me. A great addition to Calamateur's long and varied catalogue.
